About Us
Cub Scout Pack 39 was chartered originally by Valley View Elementary
School, in the Eanes Independent School
District west of Austin, Texas in 1995. In 1997, that charter was
moved to Eanes' newest elementary school,
Bridge Point Elementary School.
Presently the Pack has about 110 registered Cub Scouts ranging in
age from six to eleven, with boys from 1st
through 5th grades. Most of the boys are
enrolled in Bridge Point Elementary School.
A boy can join Cub Scouts at any time from first to fifth grades. New scouts will be placed in a den of similar age/grade boys. Dens are ideally composed of 8 to 10 boys, although the number can vary higher especially in later grades. Each Den has an adult Leader and at least one adult Assistant Leader. Leaders are usually a parent of one of the boys in the Den. Anyone meeting the National BSA criteria can be a Leader, and the Pack and local Council will provide the training and assistance necessary to help new leaders with their programs. Links to training resources can be found on this website under the "Training" tab.
Pack 39 meets about once a month on Monday evenings from 7-8pm at
Bridge Point Elementary school. Throughout the scouting year there
are additional fun events like the Pinewood Derby, campouts and the Rain
Gutter regatta to names a few. The Pack calendar can
be found by clicking the "Calendar" tab in the menu. Individual
dens meet an additional 1 to 2 times a month to work on advancement
requirements, crafts, games, skit or program preparation or to take a
field trip.
Those boys interested in joining Pack 39 are encouraged to contact the Cubmaster, Scott Boyd at (512) 970-3745 or via email at cubmaster@pack39.org.
Pack 39 has been a Quality Unit of the Boy Scouts of America since
1997.
